Privacy notice
Last updated 2 September 2026
This notice covers jobs.skilledsolutions.co.uk, the careers site for Skilled Solutions Ltd. It explains what we collect when you apply for driver work, why, and who else sees it.
What we collect
- Your details — name, email, phone, town and postcode.
- Your answers — depot and van size, licence type and how long you have held it, endorsements, whether you can drive a manual, right to work, unspent convictions, willingness to complete a DBS check, and whether you have your own van.
- Optional — a CV, previous experience, and a share code.
- Your driving licence number, only if you choose to give it.
- How you found us — which advert or link you arrived through.
Why we use it
To consider your application, contact you about driver work, and complete onboarding if you join us. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in recruiting drivers.
Your postcode
We check the first part of your postcode against the areas each depot covers, so we can tell you straight away if a depot is too far from you, or point you at a nearer one. No decision about your suitability is made from it.
Driving licence checks
If you give us your licence number and tick the box, we check your record with the DVLA to see what endorsements and points it shows. We do not run this check unless you ask us to, and you can apply without it. A person always reviews your application — a check result on its own never decides the outcome.
Who else sees your information
- Our recruitment system, where our recruiters work your application.
- The client whose depot you would work from, if you progress to onboarding, because they must clear you for site access.
- DVLA, only for the licence check described above.
- Google — only if you accepted measurement. We tell Google Analytics and Google Ads that an application happened, and which advert or search brought you, so we know which adverts are worth running.
- Meta (Facebook) — only if you accepted measurement. We tell Meta that an application happened, and send your email, phone, name, postcode and town as one-way encrypted values so they can match it to an advert without being able to read them. If you rejected measurement, we send nothing.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with other recruiters.
Cookies
- A session cookie that makes the site work — this one is necessary and is not used to track you.
- A consent cookie remembering your answer to the banner, for six months.
- Meta and Google advertising and analytics cookies, only if you accepted. Nothing is loaded until you do.
To change your mind, clear this site's cookies in your browser and the banner will ask again.
How long we keep it
- If you do not start work with us: 12 months from our last contact with you, so we can tell you about work that comes up at your depot. After that we delete it.
- If you start work with us: for as long as you work with us, and six years afterwards, which is how long tax rules and the time limits for legal claims require us to keep records.
- Driving licence check results: kept with your application and deleted on the same timetable. We keep the outcome, not a copy of your DVLA record.
- Your CV, if you sent one, is deleted with the rest of your application.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner, or to keep you on file for longer, and we will do either.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent for the DVLA check or advertising measurement. Email recruitment@skso.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
